This was one of the best experiences of my life. I am so glad that I was able to have the opportunity to go on this trip. I was very nervous as I had never been out of the country before, but what a blessing these past three weeks have been! I could have never dreamed the things I would have gotten to experience. I learned so much about the culture, the foods, the history, and the amazing people. This program was truly so interactive, and I was able to put all the information we learned during lectures and case studies into practice. Going into the dialysis clinics and interacting with the patients and nurses was able to help me develop better critical thinking skills and truly helped to expand my understanding and expertise in this field of nutrition.

"The last day in paradise... Dani and I definitely got very emotional; we even went down to say bye to the pool. We also did the three rounds on the roundabouts, which was a dream come true. Getting to the airport was definitely emotional as well, and saying goodbye to Dr. Grant was something that really got me. I’m just very thankful for this experience because I leave Barbados saying I think I found my specialty as a dietitian; I really want to be and pursue renal now, and all of that wouldn’t have been possible without this trip, which not only gave me the most amazing memories and friends but also built my professional life and future. I can’t put into words everything I feel, but this is a trip, and I will never stop talking about it. Thank you, thank you, thank you."
Fabulous way to enjoy scenic Barbados.
Water at the beach is just as clear as the pool.
I loved working with the dialysis patients and staff, and they
loved me too.
Not my best look, but Harrison's cave was stunning

"During my time with Nutrition Abroad for Nutrition Students, I was deeply moved by the tours and the incredible people I met. I am immensely grateful for this extraordinary experience. I was fortunate to have two outstanding supervisors who are clearly passionate about the program, which made my time there even more meaningful. I would wholeheartedly recommend this program to anyone interested.

"It was a wonderful opportunity to assist with the fair that educated the community about cardiovascular disease, diabetes, renal disease, and recipe modifications for healthier living. The experience was truly rewarding, especially because the Bajan people are so warm, caring, and genuinely interested in learning. The island itself is a breathtaking place, and I will never forget how quickly I fell in love with it.
