Dr. Anika Avery-Grant, DCN, MS RDN LD CSR
Program Director
Dr. Avery-Grant has an extensive clinical history working as a renal dietitian with several organizations in northeastern Ohio, including The Centers for Dialysis Care, Inc, Dialyze Direct, Inc and Wyandot Dialysis. She has worked with every dialysis modality and with varied populations in the US and Barbados.
She's always had a deep passion for education and working with students. Not only has she taught nutrition for more than two decades to nursing students, but she's precepted dietetic interns for multiple dietetic internship programs for 13 years. She was awarded a Distinguished Service Award from Case Western University and given honorary adjunct status due to her dedication and commitment to creating an engaging renal rotation.
Nutrition Abroad 4 Nutrition Students was created to fill voids that were apparent in the healthcare system of Barbados and in the dietetics profession in the US. NA4NS provides a service to dialysis patients in Barbados they would otherwise not receive. There are also very few international opportunities for learning abroad for nutrition students who desire to have a rotation in the clinical setting.

Siena Mauge'
Siena has a bachelor's degree in business administration and has served in the US Airforce as a Medical Technician for over 20 years. Her dedication and commitment has been a tremendous asset in establishing this learn abroad program.
Andromeda Gardens
Sharon
Sharon, the owner of Andromeda has worked tirelessly to make this garden one of the best in the world. Her enthusiasm for all things plants, spills over in the tours she provides for all the guest that visit here. A key feature is the ethnobotanical garden which is treasure of loveliness that enables visitors to learn the history of how these plants are used for food and health.
Ngozi Farm and Cultural Sanctuary
Ireka
Ireka is the owner of Ngozi Farms and grows a wide variety of vegetables and herbs from ground provisions like eddoes to fruit trees like plantains and herbs like thyme. She is a cultural activist and herbalist and a PhD candidate in cultural studies at the University of the West Indies- Cave Hill Campus.

Sils Dialysis Center in Barbados has welcomed Nutrition Abroad with open arms. The patients and staff enjoy the dietetic students that intern here and the students love the opportunity to gain clinical and education skills they need to succeed in their profession.

Pat and her sister Marie are passionate about preparing authentic Bajan foods that would entice anyone's taste buds. Their cooking class is one of the best rated activities that Nutrition Abroad students enjoy.
