Funding Your Journey

Study abroad opportunities are expensive and many students are unable to afford the costs.  Being in graduate school, completing a dietetic internship program, limited financial aid offerings and inability to work, are some of the difficulties you might face. We're committed to making this experience a reality for every student who wants to attend one of our study abroad rotations.

Registering early allows students to receive the best discounts and find the best resources that can help them cover the cost of our program. In order to meet final payment due dates, it's imperative students start the application process for financial aid, scholarships or grants as early as possible. We'll help you find the best options for funding the program.

If you don't have a bag of money sitting around or a money tree in your backyard, make sure to do the following:

  • Meet with a campus financial aid advisor to learn the criteria for covering a study abroad experience.

  • Speak with your study abroad department and your nutrition faculty advisors or department heads and request information on scholarships, grants or loans.

  • Look for scholarships or grants that apply to you. We can help you with this.

  • Tell family and friends about your plan and ask them for money gifts for holidays and birthdays.

  • Make a request to businesses/organizations or your church to sponsor you or help you to find someone who can sponsor your trip.

Here's a list of some of the ways past students paid for the program.
